We are without a doubt seeing the beginning of the Great Falling Away. Quick story: I go by 'sadparent' because my once loving son moved to Kansas City, MO 4 years ago, joined Mike Bickle's International House of Prayer - IHOP, which is an offshoot of the 'Toronto Blessing' and then later cut off all communication with me AFTER I had done a week of googling and raised some real concerns I had about IHOP being a cult. "Older, wiser counsel" advised him that he have zero communication with me for 'one year..at least'. All this occured in Sept. 2007 - so we've passed that year of silence mark about 6 1/2 months ago. Now back to your blog. Contemplative Prayer is seeping in, seems like everywhere. I found myself asking, "Why isn't anyone sounding an alarm? Why is every Christian bookstore I go into selling New Age trash! and just because the author is "such a well renoun Christian speaker" people are buying the books, lapping it up and sharing it with their friends?! Why isn't anyone even picking up on the fact that what they're promoting is TM - they're just slapping a "Jesus label" on it?! Recently I found out that my son andhis IHOP wife are huge promoters of Contemplative Prayer. The saddest part for me, his mother, is knowing that he has for years had a deep, deep love for Jesus. Doubtless he now considers contemplative prayer one of the best ways he's ever found to have 'direct contact' with God - with Jesus. I only wish he could realize that the Jesus he's 'connecting' with when practicing CP is not traditional Jesus - it's a fake, a phony, an imposter. I shared some of your insites with a Christian school director this a.m. after I noticed something on the wall promoting Max Lucado. We further discussed Saddleback's Rick Warren - James Dobson - Pat Robertson and several other "really good speakers" who are now promoting New Age - they just don't know it even though someone's probably pointed it out to them., So I believe, though we're not that many in number, we've been called to sound the alarm! much like the watchmen on the wall. One thing I am absolutely certain of: His return is almost upon us. We are so very close. SP You’ve pretty well summed it all up.
