Deliver Us From Pantheism (Via J.C Ryle Quotes)

I feel it a duty to bear my solemn testimony against the spirit of the day we live in, to warn men against its infection. It is not Atheism I fear so much, in the present times, as Pantheism. It is not the system which says nothing is true, so much as the system which says everything is true. It is not the system which says there is no Savior, so much as the system which says there are many saviors, and many ways to peace! It is the system which is so liberal, that it dares not say anything is false. It is the system which is so charitable, that it will allow everything to be true. It is the system which seems ready to honor others as well as our Lord Jesus Christ, to class them all together, and to think well of all.

It is the system which is so careful about the feelings of others, that we are never to say they are wrong. It is the system which is so liberal that it calls a man a bigot, if he dares to say, “I know my views are right.” This is the system, this is the tone of feeling which I fear in this day, and this is the system which I desire emphatically to testify against and denounce. From the liberality which says everybody is right, from the charity which forbids us to say anybody is wrong, from the peace which is bought at the expense of truth – may the good Lord deliver us!

Hey, Everybody, Let’s Play Follow the Leader!

It starts when we're young. The simple child-hood game, seemingly innocent, burns into our minds the need to follow the leader.

I have mentioned in many previous articles that we have been unable to find a righteous church in our town for our family to attend. They have all gone astray, there is not one who is righteous. I have scanned the internet, searching for a church that doesn't compromise…and, as of yet, have been unable to find it.

This is good, though. God has graciously taught me that one needs only his Word to survive. Fellowship is very much a Biblical principle, but never at the expense of truth.(Try telling this to the CINO's(Christian in Name Only-ers) who make excuses for attending an apostate church for "fellowship".)

We just had our state's primary elections yesterday. With the Nov elections coming up, it is apparent that the people of this country are looking for a savior. Someone to come in and stop the madness in DC. I say these two issues are dangerously intertwined and American's, the world, needs to be warned.

I talk with my good friend frequently on this topic. I visit a few online sites that talk about the last days deception that has destroyed our churches and the common comment I read is, "We can't find find a righteous church. What should we do?" They are always seeking for someone to listen to on the internet, a leader to follow, a "pastor" to admire. The American populace is doing the very same thing with their elected officials. They are searching for someone to follow- someone who will lead them.

Both of these are extremely dangerous. A man is soon to come on the scene who will offer solutions to both problems. He will have all the right answers, ideas, and suggestions. He will be somebody worthy of following. Many speculate as to his identity. Some say he will be the Pope, some say he will the the POTUS, some say he will be a Jew, and still others say he will be a Muslim. The fascinating fact is that all of the world religions have a last-days character who fits the description in some sense of the word. Everybody searches for the answer to the problems.

Why are people not just satisfied with reading their Bible and living it out in their lives? Why must people be so busy about following a mere man, rather than just following the Word? Satan is on the ball. He wants to give you someone to follow. And he's busy about making that happen as we speak. The perfect storm is aligning. People are hungry and Satan's got an offer. Why will not people just feast upon the Word and stop their incessant search for a man in this current world to follow?

Matthew 24:24-27 tells us, "24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold , I have told you before . 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold , he is in the desert; go not forth : behold , he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

Stop this obsessive search for a leader, whether in Christianity, or in politics, and start looking to Christ and His Word. Is there anything better to follow? Our hope and our life are found in Him!
