The war rhetoric is getting very serious now with North Korea. Do not be fooled with rhetoric that North Korea could be easily defeated. This nation has been preparing since 1953 for this day. It is primitive by our standards, but they have a massive army with HUGE numbers of weapons. They could inflict incredible damage.
The talk now is about North Korea’s nuclear weapons, but they have enormous stockpiles of biological and chemical weapons. For the US to defeat Korea, it might take an all out effort or tactical nuclear weapons. Every military analysts that I have read about the war said the US could not defeat North Korea without using nuclear weapons. It is just impossible to stop an all out assault by a one million man army in such a small area.
The speculation is that North Korea will fire a missile on July 4 toward Hawaii. The US has no idea how advanced the Korean missile and nuclear programs are. The US may attempt to shoot it down which would get a reaction from North Korea. This situation now is extremely tense and could explode at any time. North Korea will now not back down.
I keep thinking about Israel just a week or so back preparing its population for a missile attack. And, now a missile from a hostile nation is about to be fired toward America. This is all happening at the same time Secretary of State Clinton is trying to bully Israel to divide the land! John McTernan
President Obama says he refuses to “meddle” in Iran. Why not? He is clearly “meddling” in Israel, pressuring the Jewish people not to defend themselves from a new Hitler rising in the East. He is clearly “meddling” by pressuring Israelis not to continue developing and expanding their own neighbors in Jerusalem, their capital city? He is happy to “meddle” in pressuring the Israelis to divide Jerusalem, give away the West Bank and allow Islamic Radicals to establish a sovereign state in “Palestine.” Remind me why, then, President Obama is willing to “meddle” in the affairs of a truly democratic country such as Israel, and refuses to speak out with moral courage and clarity with regards to a tyrannical dictatorship in Iran beating, arresting, and killing innocent civilians.
To misunderstand the nature and threat of evil is to risk being blindsided by it. The U.S. was blindsided by Hitler’s move on Europe in 1939. We were blindsided by Pearl Harbor in 1941. By the Ayatollah Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. By Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990. By the 9/11 attacks just a few years ago. I believe we are increasingly in danger of being blindsided again. And the stakes couldn’t be higher.
How can the White House — and the Western alliance — not see the evil that is running Iran today? The Ayatollah Khamenei has called for Israel to be wiped off the map. He selected Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be the president of Iran in 2005. He just re-anointed Ahmadinejad to serve another four years by rigging the recent elections. He and Ahmadinejad are fully committed to acquiring nuclear weapons, long-range ballistic missiles, destroying the U.S. and Israel, and bringing about the End of Days. They speak of it openly, as I document in my new book and will present in the documentary film we’re finalizing for release on 9/11 (see http://www.insidetherevolution.org/). Yet top officials in Washington refuse to truly and effectively confront Khamenei and Ahmadinejad. Rather, they keep pressuring Prime Minister Netanyahu to make dangerous concessions to Israel’s avowed enemies.
Meanwhile, Khamenei is threatening an even more bloody crackdown on the young Reformers crying out for freedom and justice. Ahmadinejad has been in Moscow building political and military alliances with Russia, China and the Islamic powers of Central Asia. And Iran’s chief Asian ally — North Korea — is threatening to conduct new nuclear weapons tests and may be preparing to test launch an ICBM into the Pacific next month that could threaten Hawaii.
Now, more than ever we need to pray for our leaders, that their hearts would be changed, that their eyes would be opened, that they would “do justice, and love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 5:8) We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. “Behold, He who keeps Israel neither will slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:8) And we need to pray for the Lord to show His great love to all the people of the epicenter. “I will set My glory among the nations; and all the nations will see My judgment which I have executed and My hand which I have laid on them. And the house of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God from that day onward….I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord.” (Ezekiel 39:21,22,29) Joel Rosenberg
Should the world continue, historians will undoubtedly record how the messianic fervor surrounding the election of the 44th president of the United States reflected not only widespread disapproval for Bush administration policies, but how, in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 the American psyche was primed to accept expansive alterations in political and financial policy with an overarching scheme for salvation from chaos. Among these historians, a few will undoubtedly also argue that, as National German Socialists did in the years following World War I, Barack Hussein Obama appealed to the increasingly disenfranchised voters among American society by playing on their understandable fears in order to posture himself as the essential agent of change. What most of these historians are not likely to record, however, is the involvement before and after the U.S. presidential election by unseen shapers of the New World Order.
I hope you are all listening to this Dr. President of ours, telling us how we can live, eat, work, and play- all so he can pursue one of the planks of Communism- nationalized healthcare.
Government was never intended to dictate so much of our lives, but those of you who elected him asked for our very own Stalin. Is it that you really think government can tell you best how to live your lives, rather than deciding for yourselves?
Obama has come out and called his naysayers “wrong”, accusing them of “lying.” That reminds me of the kid on the playground- it’s only lying and wrong because it calls him to account, not because it isn’t actually. He also mentioned that raising our taxes to pay for his socialism wouldn’t drop donations. He says, “That’s just statistically untrue!” Statisically, America is THE most generous nation in the world because we don’t have forced charity. Obama and Biden prove this: Last year, Obama made over $4 million dollars in tax returns and gave only 5%. Biden gave less than 1%- not even $1,000! Factually, conservatives give mugh higher amounts than do liberals- and even that is going to have to change when Obama forces our charity, limiting the amount we have to freely give:
-Although liberal families’ incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household.- Real Clear Politics
-People who reject the idea that “government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality” give an average of four times more than people who accept that proposition.- Real Clear Politics
These liberals like to claim 46 million uninsured! Let’s disect the facts: a quarter of that 46 million are covered by Medicaid or SCHIP, another 20% are illegal citizens, the other third are significantly over the poverty level- which leaves about 10 million, or 2 % of the population. 2% and you want to raise my taxes? Income redistribution.
He mentions that it is tax-neutral- wrong! This will cost us all- he admitted it- $1 trillion dollars! As he said, “That is real money.” Notice how he quickly side-stepped that? How can you hear the truth above the roar?
He tries to emphasize that those of us who like our insurance can keep it- wrong again. Jobs who provide insurance will be penalized by higher taxes, or will get horrible rates from the insurance companies, and will no longer be able to provide health insurance. It will become such that we can only get decent rates from going to a single-payer system- BAM! Nationalized healthcare! Don’t let him tell you that it is successful in other countries- any time government gets involved and runs something, you’re just asking for tyranny.
You are guaranteed an increase in euthanasia, infanticide, and abortion as the worth of life is placed in the hands of government to decide. Do you think the government is going to shell out millions of dollars to care for someone diagnosed with a probable terminal cancer? Why would they, they think, they are just delaying the inevitable. Now imagine that person is your son or daughter. Or like in Britain where they aborted 20 babies over an 8 year period for having a club foot- a correctable condition. The government’s picking up the tab, down goes the value of life. Not to mention that people in Canada are waiting years, not days, to have surgeries such as gallbladder removals. And, people, this is NOT free health insurance. We pay for it through our taxes which they will silently raise.
A little off the subject, but worthy of noticing: My husband just noticed at 7-11 that Monster Energy Drinks are now included in the EBT program. You can now buy Monster with your food stamps. Like my husband said, “I don’t want to pay for you to have a Monster, I want to pay for ME to have a Monster!” Gotta love our government!
To:The Honorable Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
There was another shooting today. This one at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in DC. A man walked through the front entrance, lifted his rifle, and proceeded to open fire. Thankfully, as 1,000 people hit the floor, he was stopped in his tracks by an armed security guard. God rest his soul, the security guard passed away a few hours later.
I watched the story unfold on Fox News, Studio B with Shepherd Smith. But, my jaw dropped to the floor as the analysis began.
Just recently the Department of Homeland Security issued an erroneous document that highlighted possible extremists. As I’m sure you know, those topping the list as most concerning were: pro-Israel, pro-2nd amendment, Christian, pro-life, and ex-military.
What the left won’t tell you on their mission to isolate the conservatives of our country is that WE, the Right, have the numbers!
71% of Americans view Israel favorably
49% are pro-life, versus 41% pro-”choice”
77% are pro-2nd Amendment
And yet, they want to try to convince the world, via a liberal media, that conservatives are a fringe minority.
Today, Shepherd Smith, and his ex-CIA guest, proceeded to sum up the shooter’s motive by saying he was ex-military. And, according to the DHS, they are considered to be extremists. Shep went on to say, based off of his destructive behavior in the museum, it proves the accuracy of the report. We need to be watching the military.
Let me tell you, this man, James Von Braun, who was in the military OVER 60 YEARS AGO, was also a college graduate. He attended Midwestern College and played varsity football. Do you realize how liberal, racist, and anti-conservative today’s colleges are? Why is the college education not to blame? Afterall, it seems to be college degrees that are causing so much destruction in today’s society. The liberal indoctrination is astounding, and one almost cannot safely attend college courses anymore if they want to maintain their sanity.
Why not blame football? Afterall, it is an incredibly aggressive sport- and many pro-football players have committed violent crimes- can anyone say OJ?
No, that’s not what the left does. They blame our military, they blame Christians, heck, I’m sure George Bush will get blamed for this as some point.
This is asinine! I emailed the show and Shep actually read my letter on air. He, obviously, disagreed with me and quickly threw me in the conservative discard pile, but I still would like somone to explain to me how this man’s vile behavior can be blamed on the military!
Like I told Shep, our military are heroes. And they fight for your right to sit up on your high horse and speak poorly of them. They fight for the right to burn the flag that drapes their casket. May it be said that I commend our military and our prayers are ever with you.
Shame on you, Shepherd Smith, for perpetuating the concentration camps they are exiling all conservative minds to.
Further, he spoke with much disdain for those of us who STILL believe our president has not proven his natural-born citizenship and those of us who believe him to be a Muslim. Prior to the Cairo speech, I would have said “closet” Muslim, but he made it pretty apparent that he’s out of his closet.
Smith commended Obama on his inspiration and his ability to bring the youth of America together. Um, can anyone else think of another leader who preached “change” that brought youth together? I’m warning you, people, this is the 4th Reich!
This country is unrecognizable! Come on, conservative comrades, stand up and fight!
The Washington Times’ James Robbins writes:
Late on Friday The Washington Times’ Christian Bourge obtained a copy of Presidential Determination 2009-19, latest in a series of pro forma memos to the Secretary of State entitled “Suspension of Limitations Under the Jerusalem Embassy Act.” This determination is a legally required waiver under said act to continue to delay the May 31, 1999 deadline for moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Nearly identical memos like this have been issued every six months for the last decade. Standard procedure, no big deal, right? Well in the Bush years the memo contained the sentence,
“My Administration remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem.”
The Obama team has edited that passage out. This explains the Friday evening release. Congress should revisit the Jerusalem Embassy Act and remove the loophole that has allowed this charade to continue for ten years. Meanwhile the president should explain exactly what his policy is on this issue, and why he is not committed to beginning the process of moving the embassy.
More proof that our anti-Israel president is planning on dividing Israel’s Holy City to hand out to a mythical people. Hooray.
BERLIN — Conservatives scored victories in some of Europe’s largest economies Sunday as voters punished left-leaning parties in European parliament elections in France, Germany and other nations.
Some right-leaning parties said the results vindicated their reluctance to spend more on company bailouts and fiscal stimulus to combat the global economic crisis.
The European Union said center-right parties were expected to take the most seats — 267 — in the 736-member parliament. Center-left parties were headed for 159 seats. The remainder were expected to go to smaller groupings.
Right-leaning governments were ahead of the opposition in Germany, France, Italy and Belgium, while conservative opposition parties were leading in Britain and Spain.
Greece was a notable exception, where the governing conservatives were headed for defeat in the wake of corruption scandals and economic woes.
Germans handed a lackluster victory to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives and a historic defeat to their center-left rivals in the European Parliament vote months before a national election.
The Social Democrats got an unexpectedly dismal 20.8 percent — the party’s worst showing since World War II in any nationwide election.
Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union and a regional sister party won 37.8 percent, down from 44.5 percent five years ago. But the outcome was enough to boost Merkel’s hopes of ending the tense left-right “grand coalition” that has led the European Union’s most populous nation since 2005, and replacing it with a center-right government.
“We are the force that is acting level-headedly and correctly in this financial and economic crisis,” said Volker Kauder, the leader of Merkel’s party in the German parliament.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s governing conservatives trounced the Socialists, while an ecology-minded party vaulted to a surprisingly strong third place, according to official results.
The Socialists, who dominated the last vote in 2004, suffered a stinging defeat, barely clinging to the No. 2 spot.
“Tonight is a very difficult evening for Socialists in many nations in Europe,” said Martin Schulz, the leader of the Socialists in the European Parliament. “(We will) continue to fight for social democracy in Europe.”
Far-right groups and other fringe parties gained in record low turnout estimated at 43.5 percent of 375 million eligible, reflecting widespread disenchantment with the continentwide legislature.
Britain elected its first extreme-right politician to the European Parliament, with the British National Party winning a seat in northern England’s Yorkshire and the Humber district.
The far-right party, which does not accept nonwhites as members, was expected to possibly win further seats as more results in Britain were announced.
Lawmakers with Britain’s major political parties said the far right’s advance was a reflection of anger over immigration issues and the recession that is causing unemployment to soar.
Near-final results showed Austria’s main rightist party gaining strongly while the ruling Social Democrats lost substantial ground. But the big winner was the rightist Freedom Party, which more than doubled its strength over the 2004 elections to 13.1 percent of the vote. It campaigned on an anti-Islam platform.
In the Netherlands, Geert Wilders’ anti-Islamic party took 17 percent of the country’s votes, taking four of 25 seats.
The Hungarian far-right Jobbik party won three of 22 seats, with the main center-right opposition party, Fidesz, capturing 14 seats and the governing Socialists only four.
Jobbik describes itself as Euro-skeptic and anti-immigration and wants police to crack down on petty crimes committed by Gypsies. Critics say the party is racist and anti-Semitic.
Fringe groups could use the EU parliament as a platform for their extreme views but were not expected to affect the assembly’s increasingly influential lawmaking on issues ranging from climate change to cell-phone roaming charges.
The EU parliament has evolved over five decades from a consultative legislature to one with the power to vote on or amend two-thirds of all EU laws. Lawmakers get five-year terms and residents vote for lawmakers from their own countries.
The parliament can also amend the EU budget — $170 billion this year — and approves candidates for the European Commission, the EU administration and the board of the European Central Bank.
Many Socialists ran campaigns that slammed center-right leaders for failing to rein in financial markets and spend enough to stimulate faltering economies.
“People don’t want a return to socialism and that’s why the majority here will be a center-right majority,” said Graham Watson, leader of the EU’s center-right Liberal Democrat grouping.
In Spain, the conservative Popular Party won two more seats than the ruling Socialists — 23 to 21 seats — with over 88 percent of the vote counted.
Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi’s Freedom People’s Party held a two-digit lead over his main center-left rival in the most recent polling despite a deep recession and a scandal over allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a young model. Italian results were being released Monday.
In Britain, Prime Minister Gordon Brown was facing a showdown with rebel lawmakers on Monday after the party’s expected dismal results in the European parliament and local elections were announced.
Brown has been struggling with the economic crisis and a scandal over lawmakers’ expenses. The opposition Conservatives are expected to win the next national election, which must be called by June 2010.
According to a BBC projection, Labour was trailing the United Kingdom Independence Party in third place. It put the main opposition Conservative Party at 27 percent, UKIP at 17 and Labour at 16, followed by smaller parties.
“This time we have come second in a major national election. That is a hell of an achievement,” said Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP — which advocates Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.
An exit poll showed Irish ruling party Fianna Fail, which supports EU plans to strengthen its authority, trailing its rival Fine Gael by 23 percent to 30 percent.
The outcome of many Irish races was unclear early Monday. The count was halted for an hour Sunday night in Ireland’s North West EU constituency after candidate Declan Ganley, founder of anti-treaty party Libertas, raised procedural questions about the opening of ballot boxes.
An exit poll in Poland showed Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s pro-business Civic Platform party with 45.3 percent and the nationalist and conservative opposition Law and Justice party second with 29.5 percent — a shift to the center-right for Poland at the European parliament.
The Democratic Left Alliance-Labor Union garnered 12 percent.
In Sweden, the Pirate Party, which advocates shortening the duration of copyright protection and allowing noncommercial file-sharing, looked set to take its first seat with 7.4 percent of the vote.
Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands and five other EU nations cast ballots over the last three days, while the rest of the 27-nation bloc voted Sunday. -Associated Press
In defiance of US President Barack Obama’s call on Israel to stop settlement activity, defiant settlers built a new outpost on Friday morning between Migron and Kochav Ya’acov.
Settlers dedicate a Torah scroll in the West Bank outpost of Maoz Esther, which has been dismantled and rebuilt several times in recent weeks.
At the outpost, which they named Oz Yehonatan, the settlers built a wooden structure they mockingly called the “Obama Hut,” saying it was a sign of appreciation for the US president for his actions that had led to a dramatic rise in the number of outposts.
On Thursday, settlers and right-wing activists once again rebuilt the illegal Maoz Esther outpost that was dismantled on Wednesday by security forces.
Among the structures erected was a synagogue in which activists placed a Torah scroll dedicated in the name of Yohonadav Hirschfield, who was killed in last year’s terror attack at Jerusalem’s Mercaz Harav Yeshiva.
One of the activists said of Obama, “He’s an Arab Muslim and a gentile, he is fighting against the Jewish people and has declared that he will continue to do so. We already stated our intention to continue to build, no matter who is fighting us – Egypt, Germany or the US.”
Among the 200 activists that gathered at the Maoz Esther site was Hebron-Kiryat Arba Chief Rabbi Dov Lior, who explained why peace was impossible in the Middle East.
“It’s not because we don’t want it, but because they are enemies of peace. We just have to hope that our entire country is cleared of terrorists, their supporters, their backers and their camels. They should all be sent to Saudi Arabia.”
National Union MK Michael Ben-Ari voiced his support for the settlers’ actions saying the West Bank’s Jewish communities were an established fact.
“Obama, in his audacity, dreams that 350,000 Jews can be removed from Judea and Samaria, but they are a fact that cannot be changed,” he was quoted by Army Radio as saying.- Irsael.jpost.com
Hizbullah was defeated in Sunday’s parliamentary elections in Lebanon, according to sources quoted in a Reuters report.
The report quoted Interior Minister Ziad Baroud as saying official results would be announced in the coming hours.
The race for the 128-member parliament will have repercussions beyond this tiny Arab country’s borders. A win for the alliance headed by Hizbullah, could bring international isolation and possibly a new conflict with Israel. It could also set back US Mideast policy and boost the influence of Hizbullah’s backers, Syria and Iran. – Jerusalem Post
